The Aesthetic Arts Institute of Plastic Surgery in San Diego is proud to offer Morpheus8®, an advanced, non-surgical skin rejuvenation procedure that can remodel and contour your face and body. The procedure uses radiofrequency (RF) energy, combined with microneedling, to target deep layers of skin. The Morpheus8 technique can penetrate up to 4mm deep, melt through layers of fat, and target collagen production, resulting in tighter and healthier-looking skin.

It is important to us that our patients be fully informed about what the process entails, so that they can approach their treatment feeling confident and excited. If you have specific questions about Morpheus8, we welcome you to contact us directly. In the meantime, here are some of the most common inquiries.

How Does Morpheus8 Work?

This treatment solution works by targeting deep layers of the dermis, or your skin. By stimulating collagen production – which is the body’s natural rejuvenation process – this RF energy solution helps the building blocks of your face and neck reorganize to display a more youthful, radiant version of you on the surface of your skin.

Conditions Treated:

  • Wrinkling on the neck and face, particularly the lower face
  • Skin discolorations on the face and neck
  • Telltale acne scars you may still have from adolescence

Best of all, this minimally-invasive, non-surgical solution can even be combined with other treatments to provide you with the most ideal possible end results!

Morpheus8 Treats More Skin Tones than Other Similar Solutions

While there are a variety of treatments on the market that deal with facial and neck wrinkling, discoloration, and acne scars using RF energy, not all of them can be used by everyone. Traditionally,  patients with darker skin tones have been excluded from treatments with these technologies.

Morpheus8 is different.

Using color-blind technology, this fractional skin treatment can be used on a wider spectrum of skin tones, including darker skin tones, allowing more patients to reap its benefits.

Treatment Recovery Process

Many of Dr. Kaweski’s patients, especially women, are curious what the recovery process is like, and especially want to know if they’ll need any social downtime as their skin heals from their session.

Typically speaking, patients find:

  • They’re able to wear makeup 1-2 days after treatment
  • They may notice micro lesions on their treatment area about a few days after their sessions
  • They may experience slight redness for up to 1 week after their treatments

To aid in recovery, patients are urged to moisturize their treatment area, avoid direct sunlight, and, as always, wear sunscreen to protect against skin cancer and prevent new wrinkles or sun spots from appearing.

Morpheus8 FAQ

  • How long does Morpheus8 last?

The longevity of Morpheus8 results can vary from patient to patient, but generally, the results last somewhere between 12 to 18 months. You can also schedule annual “maintenance” sessions to touch-up problem areas and extend your results. We are pleased to have many Morpheus8 “regulars” here at our practice.

  • What is better, FaceTite or Morpheus8?

FaceTite® is an optimal treatment for patients who wish to achieve some of the same benefits as a facelift, without the need for surgical intervention. Meanwhile, Morpheus8 works well for patients who want to penetrate deep layers of fat, pulling the skin tight and eliminating sagging jowls. The best way to determine which one is right for your needs is to schedule a consultation with our practice. Also, note that you do not have to choose one over the other. Some patients have both procedures done in tandem, ensuring the very best results.

  • What areas of my body can be treated with Morpheus8?

One of the benefits of Morpheus8 is that you can use it almost anywhere on your body. The treatment is most commonly used to rejuvenate the lower face and the neck. The Morpheus8 treatment can also be a good option for reducing acne scars, minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, concealing stretch marks and surgical scars, and more.

  • How long does Morpheus8 take to work?

This varies from patient to patient. Some patients will see some results almost immediately, but it is more common for results to appear within two or three weeks of the initial treatment.

  • What can you not do after Morpheus8?

Following a Morpheus8 treatment, you should wait one or two days before applying makeup. It is also important to avoid tanning and steer clear of prolonged exposure to the sun. Any time you go outside, even for a few minutes, we would recommend applying broad-spectrum sunscreen.

  • How many treatments do you need with Morpheus8?

Depending on your needs, you may need anywhere from one to three treatments. We recommend waiting four weeks between each Morpheus8 treatment.
