What is CoolPeel®?

CoolPeel is the state-of-the-art way to receive the benefits of a traditional CO2 resurfacing
treatment, while maximizing safety and comfort. By treating only the superficial layer of skin
tissue, damaged skin is thereby removed, stimulating youthful and more vibrant skin.

What Makes CoolPeel Different?

CO2 lasers have long been the standard in facial resurfacing treatments. Their precision allows
for great results when correcting age spots, acne scars, wrinkles, sun damage, and other
blemishes. The focused energy from the laser heats the lower layer, stimulating collagen
production and tightening the skin. CoolPeel delivers fractal ablative treatment with virtually no
downtime and minimal risk of hyper-pigmentation or infection.

Meet The Doctor

Dr. Susan Kaweski has over 30 years of local and international experience in the industry. She is
both family-oriented and compassionate – making her a strong advocate for her patients and
their well-being. One of the greatest rewards of her profession is being able to see how her
procedures have contributed to a renewed sense of self within her patients. Many of whom
have improved the way they feel about themselves and become more empowered to make
better lifestyle choices.

How Does the CoolPeel Work?

CoolPeel Laser treatment is done using the cutting-edge SmartXide Tetra CO2 laser. The ability
to precisely calibrate its energy output and pulse duration makes it one of the most advanced
CO2 technologies available in the industry. This permits the delivery of high energy in short
pulses during the facial resurfacing procedure, eliminating any excess or lingering heat that
could potentially damage the skin. The lack of unnecessary heat, in fact, is the reason it is called
a CoolPeel.

The versatility of this machine also makes it possible to do a DEKA Peel, which is a fully ablative
CO2 resurfacing procedure used at a high setting. A key difference between the two is the
downtime after the procedure; the DEKA Peel has a downtime of about 5 to 7 days, while the
CoolPeel can have little to none but may need 3 or 4 follow-up treatments spaced 4 to 5 weeks
apart.

How Long Does a CoolPeel Take?

A typical CoolPeel procedure takes approximately 5-15 minutes to complete.

Is Anesthesia or Numbing Required?

There is no need for anesthesia; however, a numbing cream may be provided for additional
comfort.

What Is the Recovery Time for a CoolPeel?

With CoolPeel, you can expect minimal downtime. You may feel effects similar to a sunburn
immediately after the procedure. Redness, a feeling of dryness, or irritated skin can persist for a
day or two – none of which should keep you from your daily routine. During this time, it is
important to keep your skin hydrated and avoid direct sunlight until the redness subsides.

When Can I Return to My Skincare Routine?

You should avoid touching or cleaning the area of your CoolPeel for at least 24 hours, and
afterward, you can use a gentle cleanser to wash your face. Makeup and sunscreen should also
be avoided for 24-48 hours after your treatment. The best practice is to consult with your
provider on a post-treatment strategy and confirm when you should return to your skincare
routine.
