Cellulite is a common problem that plagues women of all ages. Although the condition is harmless, many women are embarrassed by the cottage cheese look of the skin. This affects choices a woman makes in clothing, as well as the quality of her intimate relationships. Dr. Kaweski offers two different procedures for cellulite reduction at Aesthetic Arts Institute of Plastic Surgery in the San Diego area to allow for customization of treatment based on a patients unique needs and desired outcome.

Who is it For?

Cellulite reduction is available to any patient in reasonably good health who wants to eliminate the dimpled appearance that frequently appears on the thighs and abdomen.

These San Diego patients may have tried topical treatments at home without seeing desired results. At Aesthetic Arts Institute of Plastic Surgery, we offer both surgical and non-surgical treatment options to ensure each patient can choose the type of procedure they want to get the results they desire.

About the Procedure

Cellulite reduction procedures available at Aesthetic Arts Institute of Plastic Surgery include:

Cellulaze

This minimally-invasive surgical procedure involves the insertion of a narrow tube, also known as a cannula, directly into the treatment site. The cannula delivers focused laser energy into the underlying structure where the cellulite is located, liquefying fat for removal and releasing the fibrous bands that cause the dimpled appearance.

Endermologie

Endermologie is a non-invasive treatment that a combination of deep massage and suction to work out cellulite and leave a smoother appearance to the skin’s surface. The procedure also works to minimize the appearance of shallow scarring and smooth out hardened areas after liposuction.

Dr. Kaweski performs Cellulaze under local anesthesia, while Endermologie does not require any type of anesthesia. Both procedures take less than two hours to complete, and are performed as outpatient procedures.

After the Procedure

San Diego patients receiving an Endermologie treatment may return to regular activities right away, while Cellulaze may require a day or two of downtime before returning to work. Discomfort may be managed with oral pain medication. Patients receiving Cellulaze may experience mild bruising and swelling around the treatment site, which will subside on its own within a few days.

What about Results?

Results from Cellulaze treatments may be seen shortly after the procedure, with visible reduction of dimpling and a smoother appearance overall. Patients undergoing Endermologie treatments will often need more than one treatment to see results begin to appear, and a series of treatment sessions to achieve desired results. Patients may require touch-up sessions periodically to maintain results.

Patients unhappy with the appearance of cellulite on the abdomen, thighs and hips now have a choice of treatment options at Aesthetic Arts Institute of Plastic Surgery in the San Diego area.
