Why and How Cellulaze Works
If you’re like many San Diego and La Mesa patients, you’ve tried a variety of solutions to get rid of cellulite. Dieting and exercising may help with weight loss, but they do not always improve the unaesthetic appearance of dimples, ripples, and waves in the legs that cellulite causes.
That’s because cellulite is a structural problem below the skin:
- It typically develops when your underlying tissue bands stiffen and the surrounding fat cells begin to enlarge.
- Eventually, these fat cells push up against your skin, creating an uneven appearance.
- Thin skin can make cellulite even more visible.
For a cellulite treatment to be effective, it needs to alter this underlying structure. That’s the approach that Cellulaze uses. Dr. Kaweski applies the technology to:
- Gently heat, disrupt, and melt away fat.
- Release the fibrous bands that cause cellulite.
- Stimulate collagen production, which encourages skin elasticity and a more even appearance.
The procedure is minimally invasive and the amount of time varies with the areas treated.
Getting Started with Cellulaze
San Diego and La Mesa patients begin with an initial consultation at Aesthetic Arts Institute. During your visit, you’ll get to know Dr. Kaweski and learn about Cellulaze. One of the reasons that patients choose and recommend Dr. Kaweski is that she spends a significant amount of time talking with those in her care: answering questions, discussing options, and creating a plan based on their individual needs. As a patient, you’ll enjoy a personal and professional experience that prioritizes your goals.
Cellulaze candidates are typically in good health, are not significantly overweight, and have mild-to-moderate cellulite in the thigh area. Dr. Kaweski will perform an examination and take a medical history to ensure that the treatment is right for you.
Your Experience with Cellulaze
San Diego-area patients have Cellulaze treatment at our La Mesa offices. The procedure is performed under sedation to ensure your comfort.
As part of the procedure, Dr. Kaweski inserts a very small tube, or cannula, under the skin. The Cellulaze laser inside the tube delivers energy that reduces and melts fat and loosens the fibrous bands.
During your recovery, you may notice bruising and sensitivity around the site and some fluid discharge from incisions. Most patients can return to normal activities within a few days and take part in more strenuous activities within a week or two. The results—smoother skin and less noticeable bands of cellulite—should continue to improve in appearance over the next three-to-twelve months.
