| Lower Body Lift
Indications:
- Excess skin and fat of the buttocks, outer thighs and flanks resulting in sagging of the tissue. Difficult to find clothes to fit the contour.
Procedure Description:
- The procedure is done under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis or in the hospital depending upon the amount of tissue to be removed.
- Incisions are made in the back and can be extended into abdominoplasty type of incisions in the front.
- The incisions are meant to hide in the bathing suit line of the trunk.
Recuperation and healing:
- Two drains are placed in the back and two drains are placed in the front . These drains are usually removed in 7-14 days.
- The incisions are covered with light dressings and the patient is placed in a compression garment which covers the area.
- Initial discomfort subsides daily and will be controlled with pain pump catheters which bathe the area with numbing medicine and oral medications.
- Scars will fade within 12 -24 months.
- Plan to avoid strenuous activity for 4-6 weeks. Too much initial activity will result in prolonged swelling which will take longer to dissipate.
Intended result:
- More attractive contour to the trunk, buttocks, outer thighs and flanks.
- The ability to wear the appropriate size of clothes and feel comfortable in your appearance.
