| Breast Reduction (Reduction Mammaplasty)
Indications:
- Unwanted deposits of fat and breast tissue in the male chest area
- Excess skin and fat of the male chest area after massive weight loss
Description of Procedure:
- With firm elastic skin of the chest, the contour of the chest can be reshaped with liposuction.
- Hanging loose skin requires direct removal to tighten the area. The incisions extend around the nipple/areola complex and may extend vertically down and run in the crease.
- The procedure may be performed under local or general anesthesia depending on the amount of tissue to be removed.

Recuperation and Healing:
Liposuction:
- A sticky white foam dressing is removed after 4-5 days from the area. The sutures are removed at the same time.
- External ultrasound provides relief and increases healing.
- A compression vest is worn for 4 weeks.
Direct Excision:
- A light dressing is removed the day after surgery.
- A compression vest is worn for 4 weeks
- Scars will fade in 12-24 months
